What is a certified thanatopractor?
The advanced training to become a ‘certified thanatopractician’ at the German Institute for Thanatopraxia includes both the necessary specialist knowledge to carry out temporary preservation (also called embalming) and the reconstruction of, for example, deceased persons who have had an accident.
In such cases, thanatopraxia helps to make an open viewing more pleasant for the relatives or to make it possible in the first place. Embalming allows for a farewell at the open coffin even after several weeks, contributes to hygiene and is also mandatory for many international transfers.
Who can benefit from these services?
As a relative of, for example, a deceased person who has had an accident or who is to be repatriated abroad, you can order the services of a thanapractor directly from us, together with the entire funeral arrangements.
We also offer these services to all undertakers who require the services of a thanatopractic surgeon, for example for cosmetic reconstruction or embalming. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
Network
We work with other colleagues through a nationwide network of thanatopracticians, especially in particularly complicated cases of reconstruction. Fabian Lenzen is
also listed as a certified thanatopractician by the German Institute for Thanatopraxia . He is also an active member of the DeathCare Embalmingteam Germany eV
