Axel Kluth †
The senior partner in our company passed away in November 2023 at the age of 78. At that time, he had over 40 years of experience as a funeral director. He passed the exam to become a ‘certified funeral director’ as early as 1974. In addition to his commitment to the company, association work for our industry was always close to his heart.
The offices of chief master of the Funeral Directors Guild of Berlin and Brandenburg eV and of vice president of the Federal Association of German Funeral Directors eV were probably the most important that he was able to hold, for which he was appointed honorary master in 2007. Axel Kluth will continue to hold an important place in the memories of his family and employees.

Dr.-Ing. Fabian Lenzen
As Axel Kluth’s son-in-law, Fabian Lenzen is now the owner of the company and continues the family tradition that is over a century and a half old. After successfully completing his studies in architecture and working for several years in this field, he switched to the industry, which he had already been able to get to know as a student through his wife’s family with great interest. In 2006 and 2007 he completed modular training to become a ‘certified funeral director’. In the sense of an holistic approach, he is now active in all areas of the company.
With a membership in the executive board of the funeral directors’ guild of Berlin and Brandenburg, he is also following in his father-in-law’s footsteps on a voluntary basis.
Since 2013 he has also been a lecturer at the Theo Remmertz Academy, the federal training center for funeral directors, of which he is also chairman. In 2021 he received a teaching position at the University of Regensburg as part of the ‘Perimortal Sciences’ degree program.
In addition, Fabian Lenzen completed extensive training to become a ‘certified thanatopractician’ in 2012. This training took place partly in Germany and partly in the USA and was successfully completed with seven theoretical and one practical examination in front of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts.
In 2016, Fabian Lenzen also published his doctoral thesis on the subject of ‘Changes in values as reflected in sepulchral architecture’.

Stephanie Brüning
The trained florist is not an employee of our company but works independently. Nevertheless, she is closely connected to us and our work. She makes all the floral decorations on our behalf and is responsible for the floral design of the funeral ceremonies. She used to run her own flower shop directly across the street from our company, but today she creates her work in a workshop on our premises. In addition to working for our company, she also creates floral decorations for event agencies and private clients.
